HI, I am just interested to find out how long people had to wait before getting their car, I am supposed to be getting a Skoda Fabia but I am getting messed about, I have waited since october, they have said today that it is at Grimsby docks waiting to be collected, I am not sure whether to believe them or not, I am seriously thinking of cancelling the car, so if anyone could answer the question I would appreciate it thanks Kimxx

Hi Kim,

I know Skoda are overwhelmed with orders because of their VAT free offers! However I would have thought you should have got it by now. Did you get a build week for your car? If you don't think your dealer is very helpful then contact Skoda UK customer care. If you email them they have been known to ring you straight back!!http://www.skoda.co.uk/aboutskoda/contactus.aspx

I take it you knew the Fabia is going to be facelifted within 4 months with new and better engines. Also a better quality interior! If you register on the Skoda owners forum you'll get loads of information!

Hi Kim

I ordered my last Mazda in October 2008 and it arrived on the 20th January 2009. All our motability cars have taken between 12 -16 weeks from signing the contract to picking the car up. Once the car has been brought from the docks, you will then have a 4 or 5 day wait whilst it is checked, taxed and the insurance sorted out. We went to Mitchell Mazda in Cheshire Oaks who are also Skoda and Lexus dealers and we have had the most fantastic care and service you could imagine. OK, we've had 3 cars from them and will be getting our next from them as well, but their service is amazing.

Love Jeanxxxx

Hi, have had some update today, I asked Motability about adaptations, they were not ordered by Skoda, Motability rung Skoda and sorted it all out, it turns out that the salesman had never handled dealing with a Motability care before, it can only happen to me.

Red dog - didn't know that the Fabia's were being updated in 4 months, I will have to ask about that love Kimxx

I think we waited for a couple of months for our Skoda Octavia, Kim. Its three years are up next May and we're going to be looking at a Fabia, once they've had the 'facelift' Stewart mentions. I have to say our local Skoda dealer is brilliant, I guess it was just bad luck you got a 'newbie'!
